#25 in the Hamish Macbeth, Scottish Highlands police constable. Hamish returns from a brief vacation to find a new resident of his community and the townspeople consider her to be a witch. It is not long before she is murdered and Macbeth finds himself trying to discover who murdered her while the townspeople appear to be concealing evidence.

This series is a fun read with a good mystery to be solved. There is the usual humor and trials and tribulations of Macbeth's personal life with the women in his life.
