** spoiler alert ** I like the story line for this book. it always kept me on the edge and when i think one thing is going to happen it turns for the worst. it goes like this from the beggining, middle, and end. When all is lost don't give up hope because maybe with a strike of luck you might find in the end what your looking for. well in this book it doesn't happen the way you think, you'll think "Yes finaly things are looking up in this book." then you find yourself sad again. The ending of this book really brought me down because in the end you think yes the Bauldilaires are finally out of count olafs clutches and then you see esme squalor, one of olafs assistants, cut the roap to their freedom and sends the Bauldilares plumitting to the ground. at the end the Bauldilares are out of olafs coutches, but now nobody is taking care of them they are taking care of each other and thats how the book ends.
