I bought this book on a whim at a book sale, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. My child is only 3 weeks old, so I won't be employing many of these techniques on her for quite some time. However, it's made me re-evaluate the way I talk to my husband sometimes :)

Would definitely recommend to parents. My mom used many of the "bad" techniques in the book, and I remember how my brother and I both reacted to them. How you phrase something and what you choose to leave unspoken can make all the difference in how a child responds and opens up to you.
