I enjoyed this book. Suzanne Collins is becoming one of my favorite authors. This book was easy to read and fun. I'm not much of a fantasy reader so I put off reading this book. After I read 'Catching Fire,' the second book in the The Hunger Games series, I decided that I wanted to read more of her work. I read straight through this book.

The story is a Alice in Wonderland story with Gregor getting sucked into the Underlands with his sister Boots. The Underlands is filled with crawlers, spinners, rats, bats and humans. Gregor's entry into their world starts a war to decide who controls the Underland. In some ways Gregor the Overlander it is like the Chronicles of Narnia --- siblings/children transported to another world, the animals and creatures speak, there is a war going on and they are on a quest.

I enjoyed the book.
