it was amazing

This is an amazing horror novel...hell, amazing novel in general. The characters are incredibly well fleshed out throughout the story, but not in an "all at once" kind of fashion that will make you want to stop reading. You learn about them as they remember things throughout the narrative.

Honestly, I think what makes this book so great isn't just that it's a great Vampire book, but that it is at the same time a great book about relationships. There are so many different models for relationships in this story: Oskar and Eli, Oskar's parents, Virginia and Lacke, Oskar to his mother, Oskar to his father, Hakan and Eli...the way these various relationships play out in the story is incredibly well-done.
