It's getting hard to tell the Stephanie Plum books apart (I usually get stumped after book 7 when I'm going through a series) but if I can just remember the hotdog costume chapter I'll be fine. While descriptions of Lula, Ranger, and Morelli seem recycled, I did just about roll off the couch laughing at the banana peel humor at the BBQ cook-off.

I was also touched by the way Stephanie stood up for the toothless man who couldn't get an appointment with his dentist to adjust his false teeth because of a "snippety" receptionist. Evanovich's compassion for the ordinary and the underdog is another reason I keep reading her.
