really liked it
bookshelves: photography

Really cool book of photography by Howard Bingham. Bingham was handpicked by Black Panther leadership to photograph many of their activities when Life magazine wanted to do a story about them. Needless to say, because of that, he had incredible access to the highest leaders of the group during that time and it made for some amazing shots. My only complaint with the book are that many of the photos take up both pages and the binding/fold in the middle kind of distracts from the full impact of the photos. Well worth a look for both its historical and artistic importance.

Crumwell I share this complaint. Often times the subject of the photo is centered in the gutter of the spread.
