Mia's mother dies only twelve days after she receives a diagnosis of melanoma. Shortly after, Mia's father has a heart attack, and has to undergo major heart surgery. A really poignant look at grief and its effect on parent-teen relationships. The author began writing this five years after her mother's death. Her father died two months after she completed it. Wah.
