A poor Mexican immigrant tells of his college years in this "Dear American Diary" type book. It stands alone even though it is the 3rd in the "series"; while I would find it interesting to know what happened in the first two, I have not rushed right out to put them on hold. Has a pretty strong religious orientation to it because he goes to Jesuit school, but never feels preachy or didactic. Could be a good encouragement for poor/immigrant kids to pursue a higher education.
