Wilberforce was an amazing man. This book was originally published in 1797. He was elected to the British Parliment in his early 20's and worked tirelessly to end the slave trade in England. The book was selected as our first church Book Club read. While I did choose to read the modern english version, the truths of which he speaks are as relevant today as when he penned these words over 200 years ago. He asks us to examine our christian commitment and decide if we are cultural or authentic chritians. Many of the questions are very difficult. Chris and I found much to discuss and apply to our lives. This book would be worthwhile for anyone trying to live out their faith in today's world.
