Juliet is looking for her next story. By chance, she receives a letter from a man in Guernsey, one of the Channel Islands. She strikes a friendship with him and begins to uncover the story of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, a society that sustained the citizens of the island through the German occupation they endured during World War II.

I really enjoyed this book. The story unfolds in a series of letters written from the characters in the book to other characters. It was very clever how the authors gave the reader bits and pieces of insight into each of the characters.
