I'm starting to get into these Elvis Cole books by Crais. No I'm not reading/listening to them in order. I'd have to be much more patient than I am in order to do that. The only reason I don't give this book the full 5 stars is the fact that I had a pretty sound theory worked up about what was going on a long time before Cole figured it out. I know that's the case sometimes, if not oftentimes, with mystery readers, but it was sometimes painful to know that I thought I had something figured out before the "world's greatest detective". The other reason I'm getting into these books is Joe Pike. Joe is Elvis's sidekick, backup, partner, etc. Basically he's a real bad ass. Kinda like the Terminator in many ways (the Arnold version, not those other 'more advanced' silly ones). From what I understand Joe's popularity has brought about his own series of books. I hope to get my hands on some of those soon!
