I'm not exactly sure what to report on finishing this. After enjoying the first part of the book where the characters are at school, I started to really dislike all of them as they failed to grow up or do anything good or worthwhile. I don't think they are supposed to be likable, but I hadn't minded them that much before. The whole thing made me pretty depressed. Then the ending seemed even weirder after all of that. Anyway, I haven't stopped thinking about it yet, which is one sort of compliment.
