Kingsolver is an excellent writer, and this book is no exception. Despite the glaring differences in our presuppositions/world view, I really enjoyed this book and came away with a lot to think about. Her husband and daughter both contribute to the book as well, and their input was equally enjoyable/interesting. This book is about their family's attempt to eat as locally as possible, even growing and raising much of their own food. One thing I appreciated about the book was the recognition on their part that many of their readers won't have the same ability to grow/raise food; with that in mind, there are many suggestions for ways the average citizen can make better food choices, even if only limited to a large-scale chain supermarket. If you like food/gardening/plain ol' interesting nonfiction, then this book is for you!
