Great read. I don't think it's dated in terms of its philosophy, even if the plot's a bit pat or 'neat' in some places. Mike and Jubal are very dear to my heart. I have a bit of an issue with the way he treats women in certain places, but the overall narrative and the feminine status within Mike's "Cult", as they call it, makes up for it in the end. Funny and touching, one of the only books to make me cry
