Cute book. No, that's the wrong way to put it. It was a clever idea. The woman who solves the mystery falls into the business accidentally and against her better judgement. The clever part is that this book is historically accurate. The main character is not Plucky and Independent Modern Type Woman that people who write historical fiction have the bad habit of inserting into the text in an attempt to lure a more hip readership.

All I have to say to THAT is "ugh."

This book doesn't do that, though. All the people who inhabit this story act and speak and think like people in the eighteenth century did. And that's pretty neat.

Plus the mystery itself is pretty good. So there's that.

The ending leaves open the possibility of a series. If it does become one, then I will read it.
