recommended for: girls who play music
Menolly arrives at the Harper Hall to find she still faces obstacles to her being a woman harper. But her talent, and her fire lizards, win her new friends, champions, and the respect she deserves as a musician. Excellent sequel to Dragonsong. An inspiring book for girls facing their own obstacles.
I love the part where she gets to pick out a gitar to use, and she chooses the one the Masterharper had made, impressing Master Jerint. I always picture Master Shonagar as looking like Orson Welles!
