really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy, funny, mystery, vampires
Read in August, 2009

Although vampires are not a subgenre that holds much interest for me, I enjoyed this book very much, largely thanks to its humor and the attractive personality of the main character, Sookie Stackhouse. I particularly enjoyed her mindreading abilities and the awkward situations they precipitated for her. Despite some gruesome violence and graphic sex (keep in mind when recommending), the tone of the book is remarkably lighthearted.
