Ramona was always such good clean mischievous fun when I started reading. And I think she puts to rest the publishing world's notion that kids won't read a book about a main character who is younger than them. Ramona is entering Kindergarten in this book but clearly this book is intended for third grade readers and above... you can tell this because at one point, Ms. Cleary spills the beans about the Tooth Fairy! Not knowing this ahead of time I nearly read the incriminating lines out loud to Allison. Fortunately I had the clarity of mind to stutter for a second and change the wording. Rather than "Ramona planned to wait up and see if the Tooth Fairy was really her father," I read, "Romana planned to wait up and see the Tooth Fairy.<---"

Still, all in all a fun book to read chapter by chapter with a young reader. Even got a few belly laughs out of her over Romana's wacky mischievousness.
