really liked it
bookshelves: paranormal-romance, magic, own

A light, fun read. My guilty pleasure is paranormal romance novels. Usually, though, I’m bit disappointed by the heroines of these novels. They’re weak, neurotic, self-deprecating, or a bit of a slammerkin. The heroine in this novel, however, was so ordinary and likable. She actually reminded me of many of my friends, which made it easy to identify with her and immerse myself in the plot. The other characters, both magical and nonmagical, in this novel were also fully-developed and fun. The only character issue was that the “Big Bad” just wasn’t bad enough in my humble opinion. Still, I loved the book and can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
