I borrowed this and Scorpia because I had just finished Eagle Strike and had Snakehead waiting to be read. Not a good plan, they both got read in one night. Now, as they are teen fiction and it was the weekend that wasn't the end of the world, but it did make for a rather lacklustre Sunday.

So what happens in this one? Well being in a hospital bed is no bar to Alex getting involved in his ususal sort of adventures, this time as a result of getting mixed up with a poor little rich kid with a distant father who shares dreams with Richard Branson. Yes, some people are again more caricatures than characters and there are wildly improbable co-incidences and serendipitous events that make sure all comes well in the end, but the action and the twists keep coming and that's why, in spite of some truly horrible gory bits, I couldn't put it down.

Glion2012 Haha I like how you say the events make sure that it all comes out well in the end, becuase almost in every Alex Rider book you can always predict what will happen. And I too do believe that Nikolei and Richard are alike because of their competetivness with others.

Catherine Thank you
