really liked it
bookshelves: family-story, graphic-novel, school-story, young-adult

After she is injured in a terrorist attack in the city, Jane’s parents move her to the awful blandness of suburbia. She finally finds her feet when she hooks up with her “tribe,” three other fish-out-water Janes, and the four of them begin staging “art attacks” in their town.

I liked the honesty of this book, showing the narrator’s frustrations with her parents and the small town mindset, but also showing how she was deeply affected by the attack that injured her. It doesn’t condescend to the reader, or pretend that everything gets neatly tied up in the end.
