Just when I thought Eileen Wilks can't get any better, she somehow manages to. I'm not sure how she does it, but I'm happy that she does.

Since a description is given in the book bio I won't rehash it here.

Blood Magic is an absolute delight to read since you get to learn more about Grandmother/Madam Yu's past. Rule's proposal from Mortal Sins is explored not only from the political Lupi aspect but also for Lily (her reasons for it).

Of course Cynna and Cullen have a part (Max also makes a return, yay for Max). It'll never complain when those two show up in a story. And let's not forget about Benedict.

But all in all, this whirlwind of a book is great. It's always a joy to learn more about your favorite characters. If you haven't read Eileen Wilks before you can read it by itself (Wilks does an awesome job of explaining this in a concise matter that won't have her avid readers skipping ahead), but I recommend reading the other books before it so that you can truly see the growth of all of the characters and get a better understanding of some of the events taking place.

Wilks also released a short story, Human Nature, in the Anthology: Inked which is referenced in this book. But again Wilks explains what had happened so as not to leave the reader confused.

Awesome book. Can't wait for the next one!
