Read in August, 2009

I read this book in two days and it flows so well that I was extremely sad to see it ending; a family saga in the older tradition of such with modern sensibilities of today in content - very feminist for example

The story follows a large numbers of characters from 1895 to the early 1900's with vignettes continuing to 1919 and the end of the war

The pros is just superb, neither detached, nor emotional making for a very relaxing and gripping reading at the same time.

Shane Hey Liviu, I was at Border's today and sat down and read the first few pages of this, and I just wanted to sit there all day and keep reading. Sounds like a great book.
Is the ending really good, twists etc?

Liviu Lots of things happen, so yes twists, turns and the cast is largish, in the first pages you see only some of the people but many more are introduced in the first 100 pages or so; if you like the first pages you will love it - I just got hooked on page 1 and have not stopped till the end, reread it then and later and plan one more read soon

I loved the ending and there is clear scope for more if the author wants it
