This story is told through a series of letters which was a bit confusing for me at the beginning but stick with it because as the letters continue, the characters grow. This was a great story about Juliet, who receives a letter from someone on the island of Guernsey just after the German occupation. Throughout the book we learn how the war affected the people of Guernsey and how their literary society was born due to a little lie told to the nazis as they tried to survive the occupation. I really enjoyed this story and found the characters very endearing. Interesting to consider the difference between how letters were written vs. the texting/twittering/emailing communication we have today.
