I enjoyed this book's in-depth look at the collaboration between Van Gogh and Gauguin leading up to Van Gogh's breakdown and the infamous ear episode. The personalities of Van Gogh and Gauguin comes across beautifully in this well-researched telling of those weeks in Provence
