it was amazing
bookshelves: nonfiction

NPR reporter and self-proclaimed grouch Eric Weiner found himself curious as to why some countries are happier than others. So he traveled to countries both happy (i.e. Bhutan, Switzerland, Iceland) and unhappy (i.e. Moldova, Qatar) to explore the question. Although his tone is always acerbic and he resists being happy himself, he did come to some interesting and illuminating conclusions, the least surprising being that money does not lead to happiness (see Qatar). What does? Read the book and find out!
