I liked this book's unique protagonist: an eleven-year old Chinese American genius enrolled in college level courses but grappling with the issues that face your average middle-schooler. It was a bit slow-going for me at first, and Millicent even annoyed me a little bit with all of her academic enthusiasm, and I love school, too! Overall though, this was a sweet story with likable characters. I'm curious to read Lisa Yee's other books which seem to tell the same story but from the perspectives of Emily and Stanford.
