If you've read The Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food, or any of a number of others; or have come to understand that the current American diet just isn't healthy and are now wondering, "How?" I couldn't recommend this book more highly.

After concisely exposing the flaws in the American diet and the special interests behind the government's sponsorship and promotion of this harmful was of eating, Bittman then provides a sensible, flexible way to stock your kitchen and prepare delicious meals that will make you and our planet healthier.
