I’m a follower of Zen Habits, a blog that promotes simplicity and appreciation of life. It’s always a refreshing read, especially when I’m feeling stressed out or upset about something. I first stumbled upon the blog by searching for organization ideas, as those of you who know me personally know how much I love to organize everything around me. As it turns out, the same thing I was doing to the objects around me could be applied to my personal life to result in equal improvement.

When Leo Babauta, author of Zen Habits, announced publication of another book, I knew I had to give it a read. The book, as he announced himself, is really just a summary of what is on his blog for free. Lucky for me, I got to pick this book up for free at the library and get caught up quickly.

The book itself is written as simply as his blog and offers valuable tips for improving your workload, organizing your goals, living clutter-free, and enjoying your life by slowing it down. I read through the book pretty fast, partly due to interest and partly due to the simplistic writing. Leo Babauta practices what he preaches, and his accomplishments are inspirational. If you want to declutter something, whether it’s your room, your working habits, or anything else you can possibly think of, this book is worth the short yet inspirational read.
