I feel slightly bad giving this 3 stars, but it didn't affect me as much as when I first read it as a teenager.

There are some clever moments in there, but thet felt much sharper to a less cynical, younger version of myself.

Having said that, I must give kudos to any book that can introduce a concept like Catch 22 to the world, and have it embraced so widely. I'm sure a lot of people who never read books are aware of the term, even if they are unaware of it's origins.

I found it a little repetitive and annoying in places, so my mark dropped accordingly.

This version (unlike my first copy) had an interesting foreword by Joseph Heller, where he described the novel's inception and writing process, and also his love for Yossarian.

That almost makes me want to add a star back, almost, but not quite
