it was ok
bookshelves: short-story
Read in September, 2009

A very dear friend recommended this read. She loved it. Unfortunately, I didn't even finish it. My interest in the book was quite short-lived. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

Anoush How's it so far? Would you recommend?

Black Elephants What I've read so far has been....OK. But I'm not much of a short story person. I think the only book of short stories I read with as much pleasure as a novel was Jhumpra Lahiri's Interpreter of Maladies. I know Atina LOVED this book, which is why she passed it along to me.

Anoush Oh, I didn't even realize this was a book of short stories. I don't much like short stories either.
And I absolutely hated "Interpreter of Maladies". I don't shy away from sad or depressing books, but that one, in my opinion, was pointlessly depressing and absolutely boring.
