The next Joe Abercrombie book cannot come out soon enough.

WARNING: Avoid this book if:
* You love stories about/with hairy-footed halflings, flaxen-haired elves with bows of fine yew and skin like alabaster, heroic honorable flawless knights and helpless, swooning damsels, whedonesque doe-eyed skinny-fat vulnerably feminine and yet somehow still kick-ass female characters, stout bearded drunken dwarves, 'ye ole englishe', flowery dialogue delivered with a straight face written by an author who still somehow manages to take himself seriously, or any of the other wretched saws that crop up in fantasy novels and series again and again.

* You like ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to happen for literally BOOKS at a time (hello, Robert Jordan) and think the quality of a series is proportional to how much space it takes on your shelf when it is finally complete

* You just hate characters that are flawed, like real people and you'd rather immerse yourself in childish notions like 'honor' and 'justice'.

READ this book if
* You like your books to be rollercoaster rides that will leave you breathless

* You are a realist about human motivations and attitudes

* You don't care if an ending is happy or not, just if it's good

* You like authors who treat their characters with respect.
