Ok, I loved Twilight, so obviously I am willing to sacrifice a lot of quality for some PG-rated romance. My expectations for an adult romance genre book, then, is for at least something more gripping than Twilight.

I felt zero emotion coming from this book. The characters were boring cardboard cut-outs, plot barely existed, and the romance was not compelling. One of my biggest pet peeves is perspective switching to give the reader insight into every character's mind, I like a little mystery thank-you-very-much. So there's no mystery whatsoever about anyone's thoughts and motivations, and the "spirited willfullness" of Maggie's "artistic nature" was just annoying and boring.

I love Ireland as a setting, and I'll grudgingly grant that the setting was decently done. But it really felt like a book that was churned out by a by-the-numbers book factory instead of an enticing story to get lost in.
