** spoiler alert ** Overall this was an enjoyable book. While the writing style was not very strong and the characters not well developed, it was an engaging story and made for an easy and interesting read.

The story follows Rose, a guardian for mortal vampires, and her best friend and charge Lissa as they return to the Academy they ran from two years before. As the story develops, Lissa's powers are defined and she and Rose struggle to conceal them from the other vampires and guardians while trying to deal with the usual teenage dramas, romances and threats against Lissa from an unknown source.

I'm intrigued about the story developing between Rose and Dimitri and am now going to have to read the others but for a light paranormal romance read, this book wasn't bad at all.
