The book had an interesting premise and I like the author so I gave it a shot even though I was a bit wary. The marriage of convenience plot can be engrossing or have me wanting to shoot the hero within a few chapters. Unfortunately for me this ending up falling into the latter. Now granted, perhaps the hero redeems himself later or in the end. And historically speaking, how he acts is not outside of the norm for the period. Regardless of these facts I don't like how he acts towards the heroine and I couldn't bring myself to finish it.

CJ - let me hold both your hands in the holes of my sweater Oddly enough, this was one of my favorites of this series. I really liked Melisande.
