Can't remember the first time I read it, ages ago, but just re-read it and it was like reading it for the first time. It seems to me the most down-to-earth and believable of Jane Austen's works and Anne easily the most likeable of Austen's characters. As much as I enjoy Austen, it's always something of a guilty pleasure for me to be reading of the trials and tribulations of these wealthy women, much of whose adventures are completely tied in with their wealth and social class. Anne is the most human to me of these characters, and her love story the most "grownup".
