A superb thriller with a resourceful heroine who finds herself caught up in a deadly cat and mouse game when she befriends a shy boy while on vacation in the south of France. There's a nice touch of romance, too.
Stewart's writing transports you into this world, so that you, too, feel the dry dusty heat of Avignon, and long to sip a vermouth under a shady tree.
