bookshelves: anglophile, fiction-historical, fiction-action-thriller
Read in August, 2009 — I own a copy, read count: 2

Ok, ok, so it wouldn't be considered an "action-thriller" today. I started listening to it in the car till I couldn't bear it; ended up reading the book so I could control the pace. But for the time it was written it's true page-turning, edge-of-your-seat crazy-ness. I think some descriptions may feel cliche - but that's probably because Orczy was a pioneer!
