Bourdain's writing is slick and witty. I love his take on the restaurant world and the way he gossips like a high school girl. I understand that this collection has been drawn from other situations and arranged together, but I found some of the topics a bit repetitive. Most informative was his talk about sushi. He has me convinced that, someday, I should take a sick day, go to NYC alone, and put myself in the hands of a sushi master. I'll leave $350 lighter and probably dissatisfied with sushi at my local haunts for the rest of my life. Still, it's on my list.
