I tried reading CF's Carpathian books but got so annoyed that I couldn't finish any of them. Ditto to the Drake sisters series. I managed to get through her first Ghostwalker book (though it did take more ore then 2 weeks), but couldn't finish the book after that.

I'm not sure if my expectations were too high or what, but until I read Burning Wild I didn't really get the Feehan Fervor. Now that I've read this one, I totally get it. What surprises me are the number of bad reviews I've read for this (here and elsewhere). Not being a faithful CF reader though, I'll have to assume that this one isn't like her previous books. Mind you, I still loved it, and while I won't be going back to those other series, this one I'll stick with.

It was definitely a hot read, and while other readers complained about the hero I liked watching him grow from a cold and dispassionate business magnate to a deserving Romance Novel Hero... and will probably be re-reading this one a few times :)
