I just love Julie Garwood's writing. I have read all but one of her medieval/scottish romance novels and have enjoyed each one as much as the others. This particular story seems to start out with three situations that twirl into one. There is so much in one book from romance to suspense to mystery to action and then back to romance. I found the book very enjoyable and heartwarming, and as she always does, I especially love her sense of humor that each character seems to have with the others and constant ribbing between the male characters. If you love alpha male leads you will most certainly love Brodick and the wonderful friendship he has with Ramsey and his loyal soldiers. Gillian has just the right amount of strength and weakness to be a perfect mate to Brodick. The funniest character is introduced at the end of the book but spoken of throughout and that is the uncle. This book is a great read and highly recommendable, and I will definitely be getting the third in the serious.
