I did like his other book, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close more. This book was ok; it dealt with World War II and stemmed from tragedy. The book jumps between different time periods and story lines. The narrator, Alex, uses English creatively. He uses words incorrectly, even though the definitions would fit. For example, he says he parrots something the hero said, instead of he repeats. English is confusing. I'm still processing the book, there is a lot to think about- survival, tragedy, love, family, history, violence.
