I picked this book up, solely based on a recommendation from Susanne, who seems to like a lot of the same books I do. Well, I was not at all disappointed & am thoroughly looking forward to the 2nd book in the series! I found the writing to be edgy, wry, and humorous, and the characters all very believable and entertaining. I laughed out loud at several spots & took great delight in the gritty realism of the combat scenes. If you're like me and have gobbled up everything Jim Butcher's written, Joe Abercrombie might be an enjoyable interlude until Princeps' Fury comes out!
