Read in July, 2009 — I own a copy , read count: 1

I started this novel by listening to it on tape. Being one that finds it very hard to not finish a book, unless I'm absolutely hating it, I decided to read it by skimming over the many parts I found too drawn out, too graphic, or containing far too many metaphors, similes, descriptive phrases to thoroughly enjoy the writing.

The concept is interesting, though I enjoyed The Manchurian Candidate quite a bit more than this tale of a fanatic, psychotic doctor using mind control to reach his ends and to feed his sick desires. Dusty, Martie and their dog Valet are likable enough to carry the story.

S. I admire your sticking with it. I never did finish it for exactly the reasons you stated.
