This was a very good book about the basics of the New England Transcendentalists. What makes it unique is that it contains a discussion about the geography, maps and color photographs (taken by the author).

My disappointment is that the author sometimes abruptly ends chapters without including the information about what happens to the author he is writing about. For example, his chapter on Thoreau ends without indicating when he died, or why. Overall, I re-learned key information about Emerson, Thoreau, Hawthorne, and Dickinson. Well-worth reading.
