It's been a while since I've read any Shakespeare, and I didn't enjoy it as much as I was expecting to. I think the problem is my own though, rather than the play itself.

I found the plot easy enough to follow but I struggled somewhat with the language. The only Shakespeare I have read prior to this was with my teacher's guidance at school. We read Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth and I thoroughly enjoyed them both. I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that my teacher was there to explain and she was very passionate and therefore made the text come alive.

I liked the concept and I did find it funny in parts. I think I need to watch the play on DVD (as I don't know of any local productions) and then re-read this. I'm really hoping that I'll appreciate it more once I've watched the play.
