A friend of mine recommended this series and I really enjoyed this first one!

When Rose Red goes missing and with her apartment covered in blood, her sister, Snow White, enlists the help of Fabletown detective Bigby (short for Big Bad Wolf) to solve her apparent murder.

Wonderful character development! Prince Charming is a sleazebag who has married, used, and divorced every princess of Fabletown, the Big Bad Wolf has taken on a human form to become a gritty, wizened detective, and Snow White has turned into a formidable politician, embittered by years of disappointment and her past divorce. Beloved fairytale characters manage to keep their own individual characteristics while also achieving a sense of realistic humanity.
