The sins of the father are visited upon the child in this mystery story -- another in the series starring Commissario Mario Brunetti. At an elite military academy in Venice, a student is found hanged in the lavatory. Cadet Ernesto Moro is the son of a former member of Parliament and his estranged wife, both of whom are convinced that their son did not commit suicide. When Dr. and Signora Moro seem unwilling to help in finding the truth, Brunetti starts to explore Moro’s years in parliament and the strange “hunting accident” which involved his wife, shortly before their estrangement and Moro’s resignation from Parliament. As with most of the mysteries I read, I particularly enjoy the private lives of the detective involved, and how the personalities of the family members come alive as the series continues.
