Recommended for: mark twain-heads
Read in December, 2007

i'm not sure books like this are written anymore, and for good reason.

alternatively boring and brilliant, but always kind of tedious. and makes a good argument against people who think twain had "complex," "reedemable" views on race.

Little "boring and brilliant, but always kind of tedious." Yes. Perfect description! This is why I like this book, but it's still taken me over 9 months to reach the holy land part of the excursion.
